Celebrity Big Brother, featuring somebody "famous" on the bleak premise of selling her story of sordid sex with someone actually famous, grips the nation. A "glamour model" devoid of eyebrows trades insults with a tattooed trannie in a gorilla coat while a Paris Hilton wannabe threatens to heave her bosoms at cameras and the titillated nation at any moment.
Just in time to save upcoming Valentine's Day, into this rather tatty environment steps somebody altogether classier - albeit someone last seen sending up Tom Cruise with a homoerotic, buffed-up take on Top Gun. Solemn piano and mushy, sentimentalist strings back Will Young's treatise to the gods for an all-time love - the polar opposite of a quickie. "I want an all-time love to find me," he croons. Your mother's going to love him.
Reality TV, of course, launched the charming Mr Young upon us - but disregard the origins of his fame for a moment. "Some days you're too set in your ways you forget to shut up, shut up and listen," implore the words. Do as the man says and allow a perfectly produced, understated performance to wash cynicism away.

When this was released in early 2006, it all seemed like a million years since Will won the hearts of the nation to become the UK's first ever Pop Idol winner, beating Gareth Gates. This tender love ballad shows Will's distinctive voice off beautifully.

Will really needed to pull a top tune out of the bag, and in this track - dubbed by some to be the next "Leave Right Now" - he's done just that. An emotional and heartfelt ballad, "All Time Love" shows off his immense vocal talent whilst also being something that will stand the test of time. A song that can really bring a tear to your eye.

'The best ballad since Angels' supposedly. Well, I never really rated Robbie's torch song, and I'm not too fussed on Will's mushy tracks either. Still, his voice sounds nice on it, and hopefully it will be bigger than "Switch It On". This is proof that reality shows do let true stars shine; I very much doubt, however, that a certain Mr Ward will be in a position to release a probable No. 1 in four years time.
